today i,ve brought a bluetooth device thing 4 my computer but after followin the instructions i still hav,nt got it set up if any one can tell me in english lol that would be great thanks all...

Simple steps :
1: Install software it comes with, plug in dongle WHEN ASKED to . . . better to have drivers on PC first.
2: Turn on bluetooth on whatever you want to talk to. If a mobile, install the mobile phone software too.
3 : Run software for the "external" device (ie phone) and tell it to use a bluetooth connection.
4: Enjoy

By "Bluetooth device thing 4 my computer" I'm gonna take a long shot and assume you mean a bluetooth dongle, to allow bluetooth connectivity between your computer and other devices (like a mobile phone...)
In that case, stick it in an available USB port, Windows (XP or Vista) should detect it and install drivers if available. If they're not, install them from the CD that came with the dongle, and restart the PC. It should all work now.

Please provide a little more detail about your bluetooth.
You can try:
1) Installed the right drivers
2) Make sure it's compatiable with your computer.
3) Could be a defective card, you can try to change for a different one.
4) ASK A FRIEND...LoL

You have to have the device plugged in while installing the software otherwise it wont find it.
