I was taught in school that the Government was there to govern and uphold the law, It seem now days they have made for them selves job security by turning the police,courts, protective services and counceling incuding Domestic violence into a corupt money ring so the can get big money for each other and nobody is the wiser as to how the public is being manipulated. They call them serious crimes but that is only fluffed up version to make themselves Justified in raping the public, People loose their home family and jobs and cannot say anything about it, the plea bargan thing is mocking the law and is used as a tool to create money. You really are guilty before innocent as long as they can get a cop to say you are guilty and you refuse to plea bargan. It's Big Money loop hole the public has to pay so that this money ring has a high paying jobs. What can be done, Really!!

It happened when we, the people, placed the burden of responsibility for taking care of us on our government. The government is currently responsible for providing many services (too many to list) that we, the people, have become too lazy to take care of for our selves. Some of these services are not fully funded by tax dollars and must therefore raise money in some other way. People need to be paid, supplies must be bought, and many other necessary things (for day to day operation) must be paid for, in order for us to take advantage of the government "services".

Son, you got lied to, and then got lied to again.
Our government watches over the economic interests of its citizens and businesses. Always has. To not do so is suicidal.
The number of corrupt representatives compared to the same percentage from the general public leaves our representatives looking like saints.
You don't know what you're talking about. The reason they are in the news is because IT IS rare.
You don't see ex-felons in the news every time they break a law. People expect it. It's normal. You don't even see people in your job in the news when they break the law.
Who do you see? Priests, police officers, politicians, etc.
Because it is rare, weird, and unusual. It's news.
What is really sad is how many people actually mistake the news for reality! Stunning.
Worse, we have a socialist movement alive in the country today trying desperately to make "business" a bad word.
We have the standard of living we have now because of business. Socialism has failed in every nation it has been tried, save those still using pieces of it, and they DO steal money from the public in the form of taxes that make ours look tiny in comparison. There is no free lunch.
What can be done? Give up the rhetoric, take a course in government and business, and stop making up things you can't even begin to prove.
That, or prove it. Don't just rant about it. It doesn't help your case or argument.

It happened when rich people began to lobby goverment to change public offices in private firms with the goverment paying their checks.
