my friend said its like a test...but i thought the O.W.L.s were the tests.
is a N.E.W.T class an advanced class?

N.E.W.T.s (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests) Are something like exit exams that the students of Hogwarts take in their final year.
Unlike O.W.L.s, which decide which advanced courses a student can take in year 7, N.E.W.T.s determine which professions you are qualified to pursue, especially those having to do with Ministry work...

N.E.W.T. stands for Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests. They take place in June of 7th year.

NEWT stands for Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests. They are more difficult then OWLS and are taken 7th year

the N.E.W.T.s are taken like in your 6th or 7th year at the school
i think the weasly brother [[twins]]
were going to take it in the 5th year but they left the school
the O.W.L.s are taken in the 5th year
