Me and my best friend have been friends for over 20 years.....her husband made a sexual advance towards me about 2 years ago. I immediately told her even though her husband begged me not to. She was very upset. And she talked with the both of us at the same time and he lied to her about the details. But she believed me. So she said. After it was over she told me she appreciated me telling her and that she would choose our friendship over him anyday. But I havent heard from her since and I have tried calling her but she wont even answer my calls when I call her at work. What do I do?

It is hard to accept information like that and even though your friend was very reasonable about it, it may take some time for things to get back to normal. Next time something like that happens with a slacker husband, just look him right in the eye and tell him what a loser he is and to leave you out of his activities. I wouldn't have told my friend even though most people would tell you to. I don't think you were wrong, though. I am just saying MY personal choice would have been to grab him by the gonolies and twist and let him know how stupid he was to think I would even go there.

Of course he would lie about it and that is always the problem and risk when the loser is confronted. That is one reason why I wouldn't have said anything to my friend. The other reason is that it would hurt her.

A better solution would be to limit your time around him which would probably mean limiting your time with her. When our friends marry, it is a good idea to do so anyway.

You sound like a great friend though so hang in there.

Try writing her a letter and tell her you really miss your friendship. Give her your phone number and wait to see what happens.

Some men can be such jerks.

Sorry this happened to you. Good Luck.
