Exactly. Only a setting on a washer. But even the washer isn't really normal.

What is accepted by the majority is usually taken for granted as normal.Whether it is actually normal or abnormal is secondary, As you said it is indeed a setting, a setting to satisfy the wishful thinking of the dominat or the authoritative and probably the insensitive too. And more so the ability to convince plays an important role in labelling something as normal or abnormal devoid of what the fact might be.What is abnormal can be established as normal but not vice versa because the normal does not usually exist. Its all based on one's skillfullness in articulating things.

Like that intelligent gal (not normally found) is saying that there is no such thing as normal, even the normal is not normal and that's true for this world and the great humanity.

We might say Love is normal not hate, Innocence is normal not cunning. Reality is normal not illusion but thats still only theory only words as a matter of fact, because it is so rare and is not easily found in this highly developed great world. But one thing can be said with ease the world doesn't percieve anything normal anymore, whatever it might say about what is normal.is naturally a lie..
What is normal is what is natural, and what is natural is not even normal anymore..(Definitely to the great majority),
What is normal is uncommon.

Its not an easy question, quite a creative one, but a very important one, .I bet Google can''t find even one meaningful answer to this after adding a billion more artificial super chips, how can I..lol!

Thank you for your question. i enjoyed it thoroughly, its one of the best questions that appealed to me in yo answers.you are on a roll, keep it up.

Well in my opinion, you can't say that normal is "a setting on a washer". Even after you see it written on there. You still dont know the answer to the question.

To the people that answer this question though, I just can't help but laugh when they say it as if what they say is a fact. I'm mean afterall, what is a fact? (No such thing as a fact. I mean its only been told to us by people it was told to and etc.)

There are different types of "normal". Right now I can remember two. Normal -as in statistically normal- is just a measure of quantity (for example, if the majority of people had cavities, having cavities would be normal). This is questionable when referring to another "normal" type: the one used in health, especially mental health. Having cavities would not be considered "normal" from this point of view since it has the connotation of "feeling/being well", healthy. In my opinion, this is the main confusion that occurs when using that word. We could say that being (statistically) normal in an unhealthy society is not what would be normal from other points of view, because we would tend to be unhealthy.

normal is what society decides to be the most common thing at any given time, its the majority that wins
if your the minority then ur different

and since things are ALWAYS changing
majority (usually the rich and goverment ppl) changes what the common thing should be

so nothing stays normal for too long, either u stay who u are or u move with everyone to be unoticed
& thats just boring

normal is the absence of insanity. It's when all the stuck up people claim to have all of their marbles because they locked them up safely, while the rest of us decided to take a chance and throw caution to the wind! normal is highly over-rated...good thing i never had that problem...I'm so definitely not normal!

Shoot, that's not even normal anymore. To be honest with you, normal is boring and severely overrated. If you decide to be normal, you'll be in a class all by yourself.

Haha, good question. Everyone has a different perception of normal. It's hard to answer that one.

Hey, stormyweather, Norman was my grandfather's name and he was far from dull and boring!

in term of normal means not too weird under average or doesn't have to be too much like too good to be true.when I say I want a normal guy mean he doesn't have to be perfect or too weird normal mean average not so good and not so bad.
