If they vote like they did the last time a major government official actually and knowingly lied then they will say, "forget it. lying is no big deal"

Remeber Bill? Oh but he was a Democrat wasn't he. And that makes it OK. Poor Gonzales is a Republican so Democrats will want to hang him.

Hmm. Lying about a BJ versus lying about undermining the Constitutional provisions about the seperation of powers. Get a grip.

Everyone in Congress seems to want to hang him -- I've seen as much criticism from Republican and as many scathing comments about Gonzales' lack of integrity and lack of competence from Republican committee members.

It's not a partisan issue. It's a balance of powers issue. Congress is annoyed because the White House has pretty much said that the executive branch will ignore everything that Congress says.

The political system can only function if the branches are subject to checks and balances -- regardless of party.

And the political and legal system can only function if the person responsible for enforcing the laws -- the Attorney General -- is neutral and objective and competent and non-partisan. That's clearly not the case, from all evidence presented so far.

So, it's not a political issue. It's a legal issue.

Golly, and I remember Clinton being found GUILTY for perjury. Also? Democrats aren't the only ones angry at Gonzales. Did you hear Arlen Spector's comments? Just because Fox News misidentified him as a Democrat (as they did once for Foley) doesn't mean he is one.

Are you saying Gonzalez' perjury shouldn't matter, because he's a Republican?

um, I remember a bunch of Republicans being found guilty in Iran/contra...(trading guns for hostages, drugs for money, etc)yet Papi Bush, (#41) pardoned, commuted and released all guilty parties.

Don't try to paint corruption as a partisan matter. Repukelicans and Democraps are both TAINTED and inept. The elite has infiltrated BOTH PARTIES, so that they can both claim fame to having CFR, Bilderberg, Trilateral, IMF and World Bank cronies on the payroll. The elite, special interests, big corporations and the like PAY BOTH SIDES, so that no matter who wins, they are owed (quid pro quo).

Fact is, AG Gonsalez claimed one thing, and memos and other witnesses prove that to be false. He's been given plenty of chances to correct his "faulty" memory, whereby he prefers to simply state "I can't recall", "it's classified" or "I don't know."

Bill Clinton is as dirty as they come, check out MENA and Bill's run as Gov. (where he tagteamed with the Bush CIA), its all available online, people.

That is the real reason Bush, Jr.'s first exclamation of "executive privelege" was to cover Pres. Clinton's ****....c'mon, use some logic.
