Because your soul mate isn't in this life with you.

It think because it is a literary expression. Trying to find a soulmate (you spelled it correctly) is life imitating art, which is impossible, rather than the other way around.
Almost no one has a seemless relationship that started with love at first sight in high school. Relationships in the real world take two people who are committed to understanding, cooperating, and evolving with one another. That is hard to find. I'm middle aged and still looking. Although I spent a lot of my youth with idealized notions that most assuredly slowed down the process, now I know what I'm looking for and I won't settle for less.
Good luck to us both.

I was once told that we encounter our soul mate in each of our lives, hoever it is only once we have worked through, made the mistakes and learnt from them that we encounter out 'final' life before heaven and it is in this life we meet our life long soul mate.

I am not sure how much I agree or disagree with this, but it is a truly romantic notion.

Your soul mate doesn't find you and you don't find them, it is a path of destiny. Two world beautifully colliding with perfect ease.

Sometimes I question the idea of soul mates...it would indicate that we are all being reborn and meeting up with the same soul, over and over and over, yet both souls are being re-born so that they can grow and learn. Are we really learning anything if we keep going back to the same soul?

I think it is so hard because we expect too much.....most people want it all their own way, take and not enough give!! I believe you will fine your soul mate and not too worry.....There is always someone for everyone....they will come along when you least expect it.....

If it wasn't hard, it wouldn't be worth so much when you finally found them. And like most things in life, it usally happens when you least expect it.
