Is an 8 day period healthy?

Question

I am 14, and on my 5th cycle of my period.

It usually comes every 20-30 days, somewhere in between. Mostly like 23 days though.

My period lasts 8 days, and the 9th and 10th day are just a brownish discharge. Is that normal?

My 1st day is very light.
My second is regular.
Third and Fourth- heavy
Fifth, Sixth- regular
seventh- regular/light
eighth- light
ninth and tenth- I don't even know if it counts as a day because it's really light.

So, is this normal?

its completely normal. don't sweat it. It will probably start getting shorter very soon

You can't get pregnant by oral sex, or by finguring and hand jobbin. Not possible. the only way would be if there was contact made. And it's really not likely. If you are that worried since you are 8 days late get a test. Stress makes you period late. Since you are only 16, it is possible for your period to slip up here and there especially if you happen to be in sports, or if you are overweight, or from stress. The brown stuff could be a sign that your period is coming.

You need to see your primary doctor. Normal ranges different for different people but if you bleed too long you can become anemic. Your doc should run a few tests on you. Maybe even put you on birth control to lighten and lessen your periods.
Don't freak out - it's probably nothing serious. The woman's/girls body do some crazy things sometimes! Good luck. :o)

That sounds very normal! Your period varies on the lightness or heaviness of the day. It is fine to have an 8 day period. You might still be irregular, so it might get shorter yet.

that is common for young girls. as you get older and especially once you become sexually active, they shorten up considerably
