I want to prove this my friend wrong. She say you have to be on drugs to understand Pink Floyd and I told her you are retarded have you ever listened to Dark Side of the Moon and they said only money and I hate that song. I feel Dark Side of the moon is the best album ever I don't think anybody can touch the lyrical genius of Roger Waters except maybe Bob Dylan.

Pink Floyd is so much more original and less whiney. Not to mention, I think that they'e reached more people than My Chemical Romance.
Money does deserve to be shot. (It's not exactly my favorite style that they played.) But if she ever heard much else than Money and Another Brick in the Wall Part 2, she would have to be tone deaf to say that they suck in every way ever possible.

This comparison makes no sense at all. Pink Floyd crushes My Chemical Romance musically. Even some My Chemical Romance fan who has some sense in their head would agree with that. You can see some obsessed fan-girls coming in here and saying that My Chemical Romance is better than Floyd. Can they give factual reasons on why they are better? No. They're just too obsessed.
Your friend surely is retarded - "you have to be on drugs to understand Pink Floyd," that must have came from someone ignorant and shallow. Dark Side of the Moon is timeless and flawless, and was way ahead of it's time. Rarely anything requiring skill and intellect can surpass the album today.

Wow...to even compare. Pink Floyd is so far above My Chemical Romance musically and lyrically. Pink Floyd is consensus one of the top 10 influential bands of all time. MCR is not even one of the 10 best bands right now.

I am not necessarily Pink Floyd guy, but this question is absurd. Let's put it into perspective. Dark Side of the Moon spent like over fourteen years on the Billboard 200 album charts, still the all time record. You have to be in awe of that alone. MCR will be very fortunate not to be on alternative scrap heap within two more years, joining other "great" bands like Lit, SR-71, Eve 6, Semisonic, Third Eye Blind and the very deep Matchbox 20.

It's simple tell your friend she is the one on crack.Dark Side Of The Moon is Universally regarded as one of the top 20 rock albums of all time. Did You know Dark Side was on the Billboard Top 100 album chart for almost 20 Years?(by far the record for that btw) and by the way who the blue hell is MCR?Tell her that all those people couldn't possibly be on drugs.Although it is kinda a better experience to get high then sit and listen to it in the dark.......lol.Oh My Chemical Romance Ok.they Suck BTW.

You can't compare them!! Why do people try to do this, when will you guys ever learn? Being raise on Pink Floyd and loving My Chemical Romance makes this question impossible to answer. I do agree with you that Roger Waters lyrics are untouchable but you can't compare the bands because they are from waaaaay different times.

I'M A MASSIVE MCR FAN (my fave band)
BUT..............
i would have to say
.....
PINK FLOYD...because...MCR is soo mew you can't really compare them to a old school band like pink Floyd
MCR FANS DON'T HATE ON ME but MCR is a bit to new to compare them to pink Floyd and anyway you have to think about the facts not coz they are your fave band
