There is a product for root stump killer and removal.
Check your local garden/home improvement store.

You will have to drill holes on the top of the stump, pour the franuales in and water with hot water.

There is a product used for killing the stumps and roots of a dead tree. I can't think of the name of it, but I know they sell it at Lowe's. You just drill holes in the stump and pour the liquid in. Good luck
