And the follow-up question: "why does every generation think the end is near and the Messiah is soon to come....going back to the days when Nero was throwing Christians to the Lions, every passing of Halley's Comet, every turn of the Century? Fairy tales from the bible are hard to predict....sorry.

The bible says "no one knows but the Father who is in the heavens", who is god. And when Jesus was on earth he said to " keep on the watch" Then he went on to give the signs of his presence, and what to look for. It also mentioned that " he is coming with the clouds" which would mean that we wouldn't see him physically with our eyes, but we would know. I hope this helps!

If Jesus does come back, who will believe that he is the Son Of God? Their are thousands of people the world over who think that they are the son of God.

Jesus said that even he didn't know when he would return - that only the Father knows.

Nobody really knows, and if they tell you otherwise, they are just guessing. But Jesus will return and we need to be ready to meet him when he does!
