Goldberg Variations, but not necessarily by Glenn Gould.

By the way, have you ever listened to the disturbing (?) version of the "Turkish March" by Glenn Gould?

Debussy!!
#1 Reverie / Clair De Lune - Prelude to a Faun.
Grieg's!
Piano Concerto In A Minor, op16 /
Morning From The Pier Gynt Suite, op 46

I have a list a mile long but Reverie takes me somewhere nothing else can! And Debussy was touched by God im sure.

I'm going to hate to answer this because I have about thirty favorites. I love the stringed instruments, I play classical guitar, myself. But if I absolutely had to name one it would have to be "The Four Seasons" by Vivaldi, my guitar is crying right now, and so are all my favorite cello and piano pieces. Oh well they'll just have to get over it, because you did say favorite, and not favorites. P.S. My favorite Chopin piece is opus 72, they played that in the beginning of one of the movie versions of the "The Secret Garden".

ONe of many great orchestral piece is Death and Transfiguration I think by Strauss. The piece is about himself dying and the battles of death. The piece opens in a very mysterious manor, you can hear a betting heart growing weaker and weaker. Then out of no ware you can hear his fighting for his life you can hear everything he fells, he travels through his whole life you can hear the different stages, youth, mid life and finally you hear him die. The beating heart stops you can hear the drops pf sweat rolling across his eyebrows and the fear in his eyes as he loose the ultimate battle. Then you hears huge beams of light and you hear him transfiguring into his after life. It's amazing you need to find and listen to a copy. I would send you one, but my orchestra's recording is not out yet.

I have many favorite pieces but if I had to give one of them I would say Tchaikovsky's March Slav. I love how it opens with the cellos and basses all low and deep. It is a really cool symphony piece.

One of my very favorite is Liszt's Liebestraume No. 3 in A-flat. It is beautiful.

There are so very many lovely and wonderful pieces, that I don't think I could remember them all, or pick.:-)
