You need a birth plan so you know what the progression of events will be.
It is normal to be scared. Fortunately, when labor begins you get a rush of endorphins. By the time that wears-off, it is too late to turn back - and then you have a beautiful baby!!!!
I did it naturally 4 times and was scared & dreading it every time!!

Relax, it's normal to feel as you have but try not to dwell on it so much. Just stay focused on the baby's room & all that awaits him/her. Think of the name you have chosen for your baby. One word of advise & that is the more you relax during the labor, the easier it will be. Try some relaxation techniques at home, that include breathing & focusing on a wall hanging or something, that will take your mind off being scared. This will help when you're going through labor. All the best to you & your new baby.

You might find that educating yourself on what to expect will help immensely! You know there is going to be pain.. but there are two kinds of it. The physical pain which you dont have much control over, and the mental pain, they way you choose to manage the physical. Instead of fighting back the pain with every contraction it's easier to accept it as part of the process of bringing your baby into the world and focus your way through it with breathing techniques with support from your partner and/or caregiver.
Remember babies are born every day. You will get through it and in the end you will have something more beautiful than you can possibly fathom.

I am only 20 weeks, and most days I am fine with the thought of labor and confident that I will be prepared for what may come. Then, there is a moment where I will freak out, "Ah, I don't want to go through labor." Fortunately, that thought doesn't last too long. My advice would be to watch baby story shows where you see how happy the mommy is to see her newborn baby!!! It will make you so excited to go through labor. It does me! One way or another you are going to have to prepare mentally for what is to come, to some degree...right? Good Luck! You will do great!

I think everyone gets nervous towards the end. When I finally was going to go into labor and I was at the hospital, a feeling of relief came over me. Nothing seemed scary anymore, I was just anxious to have my son out already! There's really nothing you can do, it's a natural feeling to be scared, but in the end you'll be okay....

Don't be afraid, It is natural to have bad dreams about something you have never done before. Walking really helps to build your stamina and will help with delivery. And yes it is all worth it, you will never remember the pain. Once you see that wee babe in your arms it is all gone. Your Dr. can give you options about pain controllers. Just remember your bringing life into the world and that my dear is the greatest thing one can do.

I was a little scared when I was pregnant with my son, but it wasn't that bad. You should go to the hospital and ask if you can tour the labor and delivery floor and talk to a nurse or someone who will make you feel better about it. If you familiarize yourself and are comfortable with it, then it may make the birth of your baby easier.

Before I got pregnant, I was scared too. My mom had told me how awful it was. Educating myself helped tremendously. I recommend the book, Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way. I have had four births with no pain medication. I have had lots of other pains that were worse than labor.

I'm actually looking forward to this part...it means it's the end! Ready for my body to be back to normal or almost normal.
Sounds like your first pregnancy, after making it this far you are strong enough for labor...just believe!!
Good Luck
