I find it very unusual that I could not find a word for it. There are phobias for just about everything. Fear of elevators is fairly common, so one would think there would be a name for it, but after search of various web sites, alas, I couldn't find one, and I have a mild form of it.
Later: I emailed my therapist and she told me that there is no name for it.

There is no one definition for elevartors, though most with this anxiety suffer from one or both of these:
claustrophobia - fear of small spaces
acrophobia - fear of heights
