Yes, they can go. There is quite a bit of sexual inuendo...the mom asks the boy if he has been masterbating at one point. There are several intense fight scenes...once a man gets stabbed through the chest by a huge scorpion thing. You may want to let them know that it's loud and lots of fighting. The storyline is worth it. It teaches to look beyond one's self and care for others.

They may be just a bit too young for this action adventure. It is a very good movie, but really not for youngsters.
