They were in high school together and Sharon was the new girl in town. When Nick and Sharon actually did meet, Sharon was dating Matt Clark and Nick was with Amy Wilson. Sharon and Matt broke up and Nick left Amy. Nick and Sharon then fell in love.

I remember they met in high school, but i can't recall all of the details, seems there were other characters involved in romances with nick and sharon at the time
