I live in an apartment, can we grow sunflowers in a large pot? How tall will they get? Also, will they get bloom over and over or are the seeds a one time deal?

thanks!

How tall a sunflower gets and whether or not you can grow them in a pot depends entirely on which variety you get. Some sunflowers like the mammoth and giants probably wouldn't work because they grow 6-12feet tall. However there are shorter varieties that would probably work. I say probably because I have never grown them in a pot, but I would assume that if you can grow a rose in a large pot, which you can, then you can grow just about anything. It's definitely worth a try.
Good luck

Yes they will all grow and flower in a pot. As stated above, big pot big plant, small pot small plant. I once tried starting a Mammoth early in 4" pots and forgot about them. They got two feet tall with a two inch flower. There are several varieties developed for pots that bloom continuous and only get 18". RScott

They will grow in pots, keep them watered well and make sure they get plenty of sun. How tall they will get really depends on what variety they are and how large of a pot you put them in...

the answer to the second part of your question is: the most popular varieties are are annuals. they grow tall, flower, seed and die. but i'm even unsure about the seeding part, as i'm not sure if sunflowers rely on cross-pollination for seed production, and it's unlikely to be getting any of that indoors.
