Ok, im finishing up my packing for Vegas and want to make sure I have what I need to hit the night clubs. Maybe ghost bar, most likely studio 54 since im going to be stayin at the MGM.
Will I be able to wear jeans with black leather shoes and an oxford, or do i need some black slacks?
Also, I am going to a Cique show...can I get away with nice jeans, dress shoes, nice shirt?

As long as the jeans are not faded, dirty, or ripped - they're okay. Darker wash would be better. Black slacks or khakis would be preferred, but not essential.
Shoe choice is PERFECT. Nice shirt is a good choice as well. Don't look like a dweeb and wear a t-shirt, no matter how "nice" it is.
As someone else said - make sure to tip!! When you leave a tip for housekeeping - do it daily, since the same staff doesn't work every day, and put it in an envelope marked "housekeeping", not under the pillow. (That's kinda tacky.) At the bars, tip REALLY well on your first round - that's almost a guarantee of better service on your subsequent rounds.

Most places dont have a dress code.. Only the real snooty annoying night clubs. I used to hit those for a while in my mid-20s but then it got boring as hell. Most of the best entertainment in Vegas occurs at more low key bars and often and outdoor venues without any dress code.

I lived in Vegas for twenty years my wife worked at the former Dessert Inn, I at the Hilton Hotel as a body guard to the stars, only for two years, part time.
Lee-vies with a decent shirt and sports jacket, carry a tie with you, you'll be fine. Only out of towners dress up in Vegas, you can pick them out right away. Wear loafers, like an old penny loafer or something on that order, that's what I always wore and was to every show in Vegas many times. Check with the clubs for evening wear through the hotel, they can tell you what's in at a club that has something special going on.
Don't forget to tip, some of these people work for tips only. You may not believe it but the Midwesterners are the worst tippers, they all think these people make good money because they work at a big hotel, these hotels are very cheap with there help.
When you leave your room, leave five bucks under the pillow for the maid.

I would call each club to see what kind of dress code they have. Guys usually can get away with denim not jeans. Button shirt. Coat is optional. No hats and no tennis shoes.
Pssh, we pay all this money to get in and we can't wear what we want. B/S I tell yea.
Hit up Pure, TAO or Jet if the other places blow.

most places will let you wear stylish jeans and a nice shirt. no tennis shoes or work boots ever. take the slacks in case your plans change and you go somewhere that requires them. call the club in advance to make sure you comply with the dress code. for the cirque show you should be fine.

If you want to be sure, all night clubs will permit slacks, collared shirt and loafers.
I was recently in LV. Each club has its own dress code. But if you go with the slacks/oxford/loafers...you're good anywere you go.
P.S. Leave the tie at home for clubbing.
