I've always been curious why many women have had fantasies that include being raped and they get off on that fantasy. Of course, they would never actually want that to happen in real life - as it is a violent crime. Any of you ladies have a comment on this?

Most of the time, it's about giving up power. If you really think about it, a rape fantasy isn't that far off from some of the scenes glorified in women's romance novels- in both the heroine is fragile, delicate, rather helpless, really, and is ravaged by someone stronger than her. The only difference, of course, is the benevolence and love in the romance novel, and the rather different motivations in the rape fantasy. But still, both include submission, to feeling absolutely helpless and at the mercy of someone else.

In addition, rape fantasies give women the ability to fantasize about things they otherwise wouldn't. For example, a woman may have difficulty admitting she is curious about anal sex, might feel it's dirty and wrong, but still have a fascination with it. Fantasizing about it outright wouldn't be arousing for her, but in a rape fantasy where her attacker makes her submit to anal sex- where she is absolved of all guilt of the action by her being a victim- she can enjoy it, no strings attached. And similarly for other acts, or just the act itself- anything sexual that happens in a rape fantasy is just that, rape. It allows her to fantasize about things in a guilt-free environment.

I've had a few rape fantasies (though I wonder- can you call them rape when I later, wholeheartedly, become the most willing participant?) and just take them in stride. Of course I would never want to be raped in real life. But in fantasy-land, there's something about being used for someone else's sexual pleasure, regardless about how you feel about it, that can up the erotic ante, so to speak.

Hope that helps.

Who knows why we get turned on by the things we get turned on by? There's something behind the idea of being taken and almost objectified... but it's a fantasy, and nothing more. I don't think there's a person in the world that doesn't have some dark little fantasy down deep that they would never want to experience for real. That's just human sexuality for you. :)

Well I don't know about what all other women think. But its never been a fantasy of mine. I'm scared to death of this happening to me so I'm sure in the heck not going to have a fantasy about it.

It is a not the "rape" that excites but the lack of control, the inability to say no therefore you are not responsible nor "bad".
