Two days ago. A friend from another state sent an email - a story from a mother who's soldier son was killed in the war. They had his funeral in Texas, and the mother had never seen the kind of respect that Texans show - police escorts, people pulling off the side of the road and letting them pass, (also, there were people holding flags all along the roadside, and putting their hands over their hearts). It made me cry to think how special that was to the mom, and how sad it is that not every state does that.

last night out of frustration of my pending divorce. I have an ex that doesn't feel the need to support his 2 children and I'm thinking about asking the judge to make him either get a job or give up his rights.

The day before yesterday, trying to read The Little Prince to my 7-year-old. I had to stop because I was choking up so much. I read it when I was 11, but I'd forgotten how sweet and sad it is.

This past June.
*My anniversary (it would have been 14 yrs.).
*My (ex)wife split on us two Easter's ago, the kids left me to live with her six months later.
*She/her boyfriends/her family badmouthed me to the kids to the point that the kids were too afraid to visit me.
**I spent the holidays alone (first time in 13 yrs.).
*My daughter was back with me by this time (court order), and my son was with me for the summer, however:
**The kids were still trying to work out their "demons", thanks to their mom.
**All of the money which I was saving for their education got soaked up by our attorneys and the court.
*It just hit me all at once, I guess ...

When I had my arm in a wood chipper machine and one of my comedian buddies in the shop started it up.
I cried because the pain was pretty severe...
