When I was a young adult -- knowing that ONLY I, myself, would be the one whose work would put food on my table, a roof over my head, and be sure that my needs were met (my siblings and I buried our parents as very young adults -- there was NO HOME to go back to).
When I was in that short disaster of a marriage -- knowing that I COULD (and DID) walk away from that abusive, violent ex -- and that MY continuing to work, pay the bills, and provide for the TWO Disabled Children I had (who were toddlers at the time) was the ONLY Way that MY Children and I would have a place to live and sleep and eat and have their needs met.
As a Long Term Single Parent -- knowing that after a set number of years -- MY Military Retirement would come, and I would STILL have to work -- but at least I had a HOME to call my own (because I Purchased my way out of that short disaster of a marriage and I purchased my own HOME).
As (FINALLY) an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree -- knowing that MY HARD WORK is finally able to be of benefit of ME and ME ALONE -- that NO LONGER do I have to put up with ANY Toxic People around me, don't have to deal with abusive, nasty and rude teenagers (their angst, their behaviors and their inability to respect my HOME and ME), and ... I can finally ENJOY the PEACE and QUIET that being a SINGLE HOMEOWNER Means -- I live BLESSEDLY ALONE! I can also and am in the process of renovating MY HOME so that I can age in place ... which is very important indeed.

Hi BonBon,
Even when you feel like nothing, your're still somebody.
And that's what counts, fed up? This day will pass like
any other. In life we are facing each day with different
trials and tribulations, some small, some big, and some
in between. The key is that you'll survive and live to see the
next day. Keep your chin up and look forward to tomorrow. "Yesturday remembers nobody".

The thought that the work day is over at 3:15 and I can go home, relax with my fiance and eventually chat online with a friend. I pretty much need both of those people on a daily basis.

At work, it's the petty competitions and antagonisms I have with my "boss". We played "paper, scissors, rock" today and had a laugh.
Later, I booked a meeting with him and arranged it to be held in The Tardis. He informed me that EVERYONE could see where the meeting was to be held by looking on the computer.
I told him I was going away on a field course and he asked me if I was staying in a hostel like in the movie. I told him I didn't see the movie. I told him I was surprised that he would watch it because it was so disturbing. He asked me if I thought he was going to go home and dress like a doctor and poke someone's eyes out. I said: "Yes".

Morning prayers. After my special time with God each morning, I'm ready for what ever the world wants to throw at me. Then at night He and I hash out the happenings of the day. And I sleep like a baby.

Coffee! No just kidding, I get through probably just because I am a pretty mellow person. But when I do get frusterated, I try to find stuff to do by myself to take my mind off things like watch my fave movie or play solitaire.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and knowing that there are people in worse conditions who don't even know if they are going to have food to eat or a place to stay. "Count your blessings" and you'll realize that your life isn't really that bad.
I hope you can keep going! ; )
