Tim was ref-ing one of the warriors/mavs games...imaging the amount of money one would make betting AGAINST the mavericks...the best team in the league by far. Did the warriors do anything against the Jazz? NOPE. It was rigged.

The mavericks were destroying the Heat in the '06 finals, but all of a sudden (after the odds were completely in Mavs favor and lots of money can be won betting on the Heat), the Heat win 4 in a row...imagine betting an underdog team to win 4 in a row to win the Finals after down 2...how much money could you make from that?

Fans will always feel that their teams are getting the short end of the stick. This problem with Donaghy just gives everyone another reason to complain. Phoenix fans feel he cheated them in game 3 against the Spurs. Lakers fans will say they got shafted in game 4 against the Suns. Fans of Dallas question the fairness of the calls in the '06 Finals, while Spurs fans feel the calls went the Mavs' way in the '06 West semis.
The fact is, to win the championship, teams have to win games in spite of the calls the refs make. Championship teams need the mental toughness to win when calls go against them, whether it is because the official is corrupt or just plain inept. They also need to capitalize on situations that do go their way and make sure it puts them on an advantage.
Teams that rely on calls being favorable will often lose. In the same way, teams that fail to take advantage of good fortune don't often win.
Teams that can't seem to get over the hump don't fail because of a conspiracy against them. They fail because they lack something.

This really makes me laugh. Tim Donaghy refs one game in the Mavs first round loss to the Warriors and the Mavs got cheated out of two titles.

The last time I checked, the Warriros were already winning the series. Are you forgetting that the Warriors won game 1, same as the Spurs did against the Suns. Almost every basketball expert will say, losing game 1 at home is what loses the series for a team.

As for the 2006 finals, think about it the Heat came out agressive in their own building. They took it to the Mavs and they won. Dirk choked, then imploded and acted like a 4 year that didn't get his way. The finals truly favors the team with the weaker record because they play the middle three at home. That has been the beef for several years. A true champion over comes these obstacles and finds a way to win. All Dallas had to do was win one in Miami and then they would have won the series. Another thing, Miami fans will say that the first two games in Dallas went the Mavs way, which they did. It was also reported sometime back that some officials (new to officiating the playoffs) made calls in favor of the Mavs because they were afraid of Mark Cuban. I can see that happening, but that is the way it goes.

I think the Mavs and Suns favs should start a Yahoo support group called "Teams Cheated out of Titles in the NBA". You guys can cry all you want.

I just hope that the players on those teams use their bitterness as motivation for the upcoming season. Bring it to the court not the media.

The refs kept the Mavs around longer than they should have been against the Warriors. The Warriors simply took it to the Mavs. Nelly out foxed the entire Mavs coaching staff & got into the head of Dirk Nowitsky.

The pressure was just too great for the Mavs in the finals. They choked their own 2-0 lead by blowing a huge 4th quarter lead in game 3. D-Wade simply took over from that point on in the series, Pat Riley figured out how to d up the Mavs, & that's that. The mavs have to figure out a way of dealing with pressure. They have earned the tag as chokers.

that was in game 3. the mavs still had 4 more games to make a comeback. and did they? nope. the warriors couldnt do anything against the jazz because of rebounding, thats it. dallas wasnt the best team, it was san antonio. and they would have beaten dallas anyway. and tim only reffed 1 game, what about the other games? your logic is flawed here.

the mavs were up 3-0. tim didnt ref all the games. this was dallas' fault. dirk didnt step up like he is supposed to. donaghy didnt ref all 7 games. so again your logic of blaming donaghy is flawed.

so stop being a homer and a bitter mavs fan. tell dirk to step it up. a leader scores more than 8 pts in a elimination game you know. thats why dwyane was right, dirk isnt a leader.

No, you can't blame one person. The Mavs did not play that bad, the Warriors played amazing. And with all the good shooters that Mavs have, if the refs are making dumb calls, they should start shooting jumpers. And they did not get cheated in 2006, Wade just woke up. They would not win it this year even if they got out of the first round, all Spurs.

with all due respect sir, THAT'S A FRESH, STEAMING PILE OF (MALE COW DUNG)....

yes the heat got a lot of free throws in that finals series, but thats because dwyane wade, drove it, drove it, then drove it some more.... if the mavs wanted some FTs of their own, they should have done the same..... but when your "best" player picks the biggest movements to turn into a 7-ft roll of extra-soft charmin, things are not going to end very well.....

about the warriors... did tim ref all the regular series games btw the sides as well? (in case you missed it, warriors 4 - mavs 0, and dirk played 3 of those and SAT the last).... the mavs were facing their FORMER coach, who HANDPICKED and TAUGHT their current coach, who HANDPICKED and DEVELOPED dirk's game and therefore knew exactly what he could and could not do, and as a team (besides stackhouse and josh howard) are about as tough as clay aiken and justin timberlake....

cheated out of two championships?

nope.

all i see is consecutive CHOKE-JOBS, but that's just me.... maybe you saw something different (this might be a good time to ask, "ARE YOU BLIND?!")

The mavs couldnt ever match up with Shaq and the Heat in a 7 game series...and they just got outsmarted by the Warriors. The betting scandal has nothing to do with the Mavs.

No, the Mavs just didn't play that well, and the Warriors were pumped up to beat them. The Mavs were expecting a sweep, and Golden State kicked them off their feet!

NO, Please dont start with this every one is against us crap. Santone folks do it better than any one. The reason Dallas lost is Dallas them selves and not the refs. Maybe last year against heat there could have been some thing (48 ft in 2 games). But even then not more than one game. The refs didnt have anything to do with the mavs loosing. Mavs had to heart (i pains me to sya it but its true) and GS played like it would save their lives.
