That is one of the many effects of depo.

I'm confused, you didn't have a period for five months, then got depo, and are now 8 months without a period? OR did you take only one shot and still don't have your periods back after stopping it?

IF you are still on it: Please properly research this drug before you get another shot. Many women have some very serious side affects from this shot. Google "depo provera lawsuit" and check out its reviews on http://www.rateitall.com

I was on it for four years and I'm so glad I'm OFF of it!

If you are not on it anymore, it can take a while (sometimes over two years) to get your periods back!

Depo more than likely stops your periods all together (while on it and a little after) !..When some ppl first get on depo, they might bleed during the first 3 months of starting it then after that they usually stop for up to 12 months!..thats why they say if u plan on getting pregnant with-in a year to NOT start depo because of how long it takes for your period to become regular again, but for me it took 7-8 months to become regular~...hope this helps!

After the last shot of Depo Provera, it can take over 6 months for the drug to leave the body.
Women who want to become pregnant may stop using Depo Provera at any time. For some women, fertility returns immediately. For others, it may take 6-18 months or longer for the body's hormone cycle to go back to normal.
