Basically, is the area a good relocation area. As far as jobs, neighborhoods and just overall living?

Jacksonville FL is in all honesty a great place to live.

Location: Overall Jax is a pretty culturally diverse city. Unlike Orlando and Miami it tends to cater to the needs of the residents of Jacksonville instead of the tourists from other places. Sure it get's HOT but what you gonna do, its FLORIDA. Besides Jacksonville is many many degrees cooler than any city further down south.

Neighborhoods: I was raised in Jax for a while. The community is pretty closely knitted and a great place to raise a family. Schools are great and some If you do your research have been nationally awarded as some of the best.

Jobs: Their are many jobs in Jacksonville. Most of them requiring little "experience" after they've seen what sort of college youv'e gone through and prior careers. The city has lots of technology and factory production. Not to mention NASJAX the military base located their.

Night Life: Downtown Jacksonville. Look it up I'm sure you'll like what you see. :)

hope i helped. if anything if possible take a visit! check it out.
theirs lots of things to do. outside the city and of course within it.

Jacksonville is not a party city. Its only when the gator bowl comes to town is when u will have lots of fun. There are many new shopping centers that have been built. Also its a nice place to settle down and not worry about alot. I would be careful in where u live, for example not close to downtown crime rate is bad there and the houses are horrible. Depending on what job u want and the skills u have, u can find a job somewhat easily.

I have a friend who lives there. It's frequently hot, uncomfortably so. There are some nice parts of town, but huge areas are not so great, like the north part of the city. Overall, he likes it alright, but there are way better places, even in Florida.

The person above said it all and isn't lying. I've lived here for all my life and yeah.

1. Tons of traffic. But that's what you get for living in a city of 750,000......1,350,000 metro.
2. Take use of the city-bus....they have one of the cheapest fares in Florida....www.jtafla.com
3. Work for the City. www.coj.net
4. Northside and various areas of the Westside...avoid living in those areas due to crimes.
5. Live here to be safe, but the catch? TRAFFIC....Southside, Arlington, Beaches, Mandarin

I've never lived there, but I like it a bit. It's a pretty seaport city and that's likable. But it does have many big city troubles.
If commuting would not be a problem, then why not consider St Augustine. Not that far and very likable.

I would call it the armpit of florida. It's probably not as *crazy* as miami but it's definitely pretty trashy. Cost of living is probably lower than average though.

No...it's hot, humid and dirty! Jobs? Who wants to work and live somewhere like that? Might as well move to Houston!
