I'm 13, a C cup. I'm slim, but I've had back pain. Mom said I'm not wearing the right bra and need "heavy duty" bras, that is, bras made of thick material with full coverage, much support and at least 4 hooks at the back. A Dr said she was right. I hated the idea, but they nsisted. Today I'll have a bra fitting, will try on such bras. For now mom lent me 2 bras like that. Though they are beautiful, they are not the kind of bra a 13 yo would enjoy. They are somewhat confining, though I feel supported, and cause sweating, especially now that it's summer. But it's true my back pain disappeared, not sure if it was because of those heavy duty bras, though mom assured it was. She said I need them to avoid sagging and back pain and I'll get used. The bras I'll get today are like that. She's an experienced woman, wants my best, but I hope she's wrong. Do you think it really was those "have duty" bras that made my back pain disappear? If so, what's better? putting up w/ them or w/ back pain?

Your mother is absolutely correct. I am a bigger boob girl (DD-E) and have been since i was young and your mother is right in saying you need the correct fitting bra to avoid back pain, sagging boobs and its important to have the correct fitting bra now to avoid problems in the future.

Not all heavy duty bras are "ugly" there are some very nice ones around these days. I myself personally wear sports bras a lot as i find they give me the most support.

Listen to your mother.. she knows best

Your mother is right. It's much better to put up with the bras because without proper support you will also develop those nasty stretch marks. Bras with less support make you look sloppy and your breast will sag. You are only 13 you don't want sagging breasts at 16. Your breasts aren't going to get any smaller. You'll be get used to the new bras I know I'm a 'DD'

your big busted honey the pretty little bras most young teens wear wont work for you. you need the full support bras like youe mom gave you. shes right. i have worn the same type for years also. sucks but i would rather a bra that supports me well than to have my boobs hanging down to my knees. wearing the wrong bra will cause premature sagging

Again...

It is best, with big breasts, to wear supportive ones that will not hurt your back.

Your mom is CORRECT.

If you do not wear good supportive bras, they will sag and you will get back pain.
