There is no hard and fast rule that such and such planet's dasha will be good or bad.
It actually depends upon the position of the planet in yr horo. If Saturn is favorable, in a good house...then its Dasha will be beneficial for you.
Those who have very helpful satrun in horo, may become millionaires only in Shani Dasha.
Rahu is mostly giving bad results in its dasha... but here too, if yr Shani is strong and favorable, Rahu cant do much Harm
One thing i can assure you... Both Saturn and Rahu are the planets who force you towards god and spiritualtiy....specially when they are giving hard time.

Rahu and Shani even though they are considered as evil planets-they are friends of each other. Dont be afraid- u have lived with Shani mahadasha uptil now. The effects will also depend on position of these planets at your time of birth and their current position. Currently Shani is in Leo with his enemy Ketu and Rahu is in opposition in Kumbha till Rahu -Ketu transit in May 2008 . For an year from now,Shani is in Magha nakshatra which is again ruled by Ketu. After that things improve.

NO GENERAL RULE OR RESULT CAN BE PREDICTED OR PREDICATED. IN ISOLATION RESULTS CANNOT BE PREDICTED. THE HOROSCOPE IN GENERAL HAS TO BE ADJUDGED. HOWEVER IF RAHU IS PLACED IN BENEFICIAL HOUSES, AND SHANI HAPPENS TO BE A GOOD PLANET FOR LAGNA, RULED BY VENUS OR MERCURY OR BY HIMSELF THEN GOOD RESULTS WILL FOLLOW. THE BEST RULE IS IF RAHU IS PLACED IN 3RD, 6TH TENTH AND 11TH FROM SHANI GOOD RESULTS WILL FLOW. IF SHANI AND RAHU ARE IN 3,6,10 AND 11 FROM ASCENDANT THAN THIS PERIOD WILL PROVE TO BE VERY GOOD. i don't know the effects but............i came to know these Aradhana........
1.I thought that by doing shani puja and all i can reach my goal very easily..................but what i thought was totally wrong......lord shani has 100 % control over kali yuga....he knows very well what was there in my mind.........he only wants me to work very very very hard,be honest and to have patience...
2.he wants me to love every body ,help others and respect elders....
no need of worrying about rahu............when lord shani is happy......rahu will also favour...
