Absolutely.
People can will do all acts of bravery if pushed into such a situation.
As for the political overtones, I believe also that all of us are capable of being terrorists if pushed far enough. Some of us may take a little longer to get there than others, but if you believed someone was out to eradicate you, your family, your country and perhaps your religion, what would you be willing to do to fight back ??

I would to save my friends and my country ( I am not sure how one grenade would be able to destroy my country though). Yes there are some things worth dying for and I don't believe that just comes with being Christian (and I really am not just talking about radical Islam who will die for anything) because I think there are Jews, Buddhists, Hindi, etc who would also do this. I think my best friends who I have had for years always got that because we had a saying from college on that we would take a bullet for each other, that if it really came down to protecting each other we would be there.

I would, but only as a last resort. Since I love my neighbor as myself, I'd first explore the option of throwing my neighbor on the grenade.
There are some things worth dying for, but a lot more things worth living for.
No, I am not a christian.

The sequence of your questioning does not logically follow.
I would sacrifice myself to save my family from an immediate threat.
I would NOT "blow myself up" to save my family, since that means that I am doing the "blowing up" and I cannot see a circumstance where that would occur.
There ARE some things worth dieing for, but generally that does NOT involve killing everyone around you in the act.
Yes, I am a Christian. Jesus died for everyone, but He didn't take out all the centurions guarding him, nor the women and children who observed His crucifiction.

I would do it if it came to that. The alternative is everyone getting injured, possibly dying. I am not a Christian.

Yes I would. But if you are trying to validate terrorism your question doesn't do it. Terrorists do not blow themselves up to "save" anyone. They do it to become martyrs.
