There are two different things about the Elder Wand being discussed - who was wielding it, and who it felt was its master.
YKW took the Elder Wand from Dumbledore's tomb, and was using it when Harry disarmed him. So YKW was wielding the wand.
Harry surmised that the Elder Wand gave its allegiance to Draco at the end of HBP, because Draco 'overpowered' Dumbledore by disarming him. Thus, Draco was its rightful master until Harry physically took Draco's wand at Malfoy Manor. This act of Harry overpowering Draco made the Elder Wand give its allegiance to Harry.
Harry was not saying that Draco's wand was the Elder Wand, but that the Elder Wand rightfully belonged to Draco until Harry took Draco's blackthorn wand.
For some reason, disarming Dumbledore counts as overpowering him, but hitting Harry with a killing curse doesn't count as overpowering him. That's the one to ponder.

Harry said that the Elder wand should have been in the posession of Draco Malfoy, but since Harry had stolen Dracos other wand and it has accepted Harry as its owner the Elder wand Knew that it should then rightfully be Harrys (the Elder wand and Dracos other wand should both be Harrys). Voldemort tried to use the Elder wand on Harry, but the wand had sensed that it rightfully belonged to Harry so it flew throught the air towards its rightful owner Harry. So Harry had the Elder wand in the end after the wand itself had broken away from Voldemort giving itself to Harry.

Ok this is how it went down
back in the half blood prince
Dumbledore was the one who had the elder wand
and he won it from Grindlewald ..
so Dumbledore had it
on the roof top Malfoy was going to kill Dumbledore but all he did was unarm him
that in itself proved that Dumbledore had beaten him
thus he had control over Dumbledore(Elder Wand) wand
Now during Deathly Hallows, Malfoy is the true owner of the Elder Wand
Harry during the mansion took control of Malfoy's wand
therefore he had control of the wands Malfoy controls
Harry has now control of the Elder Wand.. the same wand Voldy took fro DD's tomb
soo
Draco now Harry's wand was teh true elder wand
plus the Elder wand held by Voldy would not go against its true owner
phew that was a logn explanation
hopefully u got it

Dumbledore owned the Elder Wand. Then, Draco defeated Dumbledore by using expelliaramus. Dumbledore was then buried with the wand. But, Draco was the true owner even though he never held the wand before. Then, in Hogwarts, Harry used expelliaramus on Draco and won the Elder Wand which Voldemort had at the time. Voldemort though that Snape was the one who defeated Dumbldore, so Voldemort killed Snape to win the wand's ownership. But Voldemort was wrong. Draco won it before Dumbledore was killed.

Voldemort believed that the elder wand was won by killing the previous owner, rather than by disarming them. He believed that Snape won the elder wand from Dumbledore when he killed him, and he had to kill Snape to become the elder wands master.
Harry knew that disarming was enough to become the wands owner and in that case Draco Malfoy disarmed Dumbledore of the elder wand before Snape killed him and Harry disarmed Draco of Draco's own wand, becoming the new master of any wand of Dracos, including the elder wand that Draco had never even held.

Forgive my spelling of the names but I don’t have the book in front of me. Basically the progression goes like this.
Grindelwald (sp?) stole the wand from the Russian wand maker Gregorvich (sp?) However, he didn’t really disarm him; he just stole it so he never truly had the benefit of its full power. Because of that it basically just functioned like a good normal wand. (it was stated that for the wand to change owners the person either had to be defeated/disarmed in a fight or killed) Dumbeldore then beat Grindelwald in the duel and claimed it for himself. However, since Grindelwald wasn’t the TRUE owner of it, Dumbeldore never got full use of it either (however, Dumbeldore did know that he had the Elder Wand) Voldemort was looking for the wand and along the way he killed both Gregorvich and Grindelwald passing ownership or the wand to the person who currently possessed it. It would have been Dumbledore but he was already dead. Voldemort thought that because of this that Snape was the new true owner of the wand because he had killed Dumbeldore. However, Dumbeldore had already lost control of the wand to Draco when he was disarmed by him on the Astronomy tower in book 6 before Snape killed him. Harry then later beat Draco in a fight and claimed his wand giving him the power of the Elder Wand as well. The Elder wand apparently couldn’t be used to kill its owner and that’s why Voldemort’s curse failed and backfired again in the castle.
The ownership chain of the wand got all messed up when it was stolen by Grindelwald and it wasn’t until all of the people who had it after it was stolen were either dead or defeated in battle that it could chose a new owner.
I know it’s a little confusing :[
everyone else is forgetting that Dumbeldore never REALLY owned the wand because Gregorvich was never disarmed/killed... it was merely stolen from him. Sure he posessed it but he wasn't the wand's Master because Grindelwald wasn't its true master either.

The first "contemporary" owner of the Elder Wand we know of in the books is Grindelwald. When Dumbledore defeats Grindelwald, he becomes the master of the Elder Wand. In HBP, Draco disarms Dumbledore, most probably as part of the latter's plan. Draco never actually touches the wand, which ends up being buried with Dumbledore. As a result, Voldemort thinks that he is the master of the wand when he desecrates Dumbledore's tomb. Harry, however, in the meantime, disarms Draco at Malfoy Manor. The Elder Wand senses that his master has lost to Harry. It switches allegiance, therefore, to Harry. In the end, Harry wins in the duel against Voldemort because You-Know-Who does not choose wisely yet again... (Why am I having visions of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade...) He chose not to disregard the prophecy, which led to the 7th horcrux residing in Harry without YKW knowing... He chose not to spare Lily, despite Snape's request, which led to Snape turning double agent against him... He chose to take Harry's blood, which made him vulnerable to Harry's being able to sense his thoughts and feelings... He chose not to feel remorse, so that the one part of his soul that had lived inside Harry was left at "King's Cross" as if it were a flayed baby, while the rest went to HEdoublehockeysticks...etc.

The Elder Wand had Dumbledore.
He was killed by Snape but Draco took him his wand before, so Dumbledore was DEFEATED BY DRACO.
Therefore Draco took over the power. But then Draco was deafeated by Harry and Harry became the Master of Death

The elder wand was in gorgovitch's posession. Grindelwald stole from him. DUnbledore killed him and then owned it. Whn dumbledore died drace had disarmed him there fore was his. But harry had disarmed draco in his house, so it became harry's. So whn harry was once again attacked by voldemort in the great hall, the elder wand(that voldemort had taken from dumbledore's tumb) recognized that ahrry was his true master and killed voldemort.
