We just re-painted my car. The next step is to add the clear coat (which is that gloss-like spray in a can) --- but how do you apply the clear-coat on, exactly? Do you just simply spray it? Because we're afraid if we just simply spray it, it won't fall on top of the paint uniformly. Help! (Car experts only / similar auto-experienced folks)

Goodness folks. Tell me too you didn't use a rattle-can to do your paint job! Do yourself a favor, take some 600g wet-dry sand paper to that and get it down to a discount paint shop. Yes you will need to seal that with clear coat. Yes it goes on just like paint. BUT DON'T DO IT. Jeez-Louise.

I had a friend who painted his car in garage. He used an actual automotive paint made by Dupont. He wore a respirator for this. Looks a bit like a gas mask. It draws air through some very good filters and is supposed to remove harmful things from the air. 36 days later he had a tumor dug out of his lung the size of a coconut. There is a chemical called Benzene in almost all acrylic paints. It is the strongest carcineogen known to man. Did you dingalings use ANY protection at all?

Paint is extremely hazardous. Professionals use a fresh air respirating system when they paint. Not filtered, man, like a scuba diver! For Pete's sake!

Plus, the friction from the car going down the road is enough to wear that rattle-can job off in just a few weeks. No matter what you do to it now. But for heaven's sake DO NOT continue exposing yourself to that paint. Jeez

please tell me you are not using spray shake up cans. If you are then in about a year the clear coat will begin to flake on you and thats when the vehicle starts to look at its worst ever. When you painted it you were supposed to use single stage paint which comes in a gallon and the gallon is mixed with paint and clear coat. One shot and you're done. NO shake up cans please! go to a PPG store or Dupont.

Uhhh. There's a reason that a good paint job costs so much. Take it to a paint booth and they'll do it perfectly.
