Just a query really. I'm Jamaican-English and the prospective dad is Hungarian-English. Just thought that info might be useful.

Thanks

Mariska is a lovely Hungarian girl's name with the same root as Mary - it's unusual without being made-up or trendy. Saskia is my favourite girl's name (two boys so far, so no Saskias in my family yet!) but it's Dutch - still, Saskia Lantos has a nice ring to it. Sidonie is a pretty French name that would sound very sophisticated and look good written as well - Sidonie Lantos (it's pronounced much like Sidney, but with a prettier spelling).

Boys are always harder - Alexei Lantos sounds good - maybe Viktor or Oliver. Antal and Tamas are possibilities (they're both Hungarian names) but I like the sound of a three syllable name with Lantos.

Have fun! Feel lucky that you have such a good last name to work with - my brother and sister in law were dealing with Crapo and Pocock - try finding something that sounds good with Crapo-Pocock as a surname! (They gave up on the hyphenation idea and ended up with Martin David Douglas Pocock - traditional but strong).

All the best
