Sometimes the road that life puts us on is one-way. There are many layovers on this journey we call life, and oft-times we find that we have to visit places that we might not care for.
It's the journey that makes life interesting. As to the ultimate destination, we're all headed for the same place, be it six foot under, your kids' mantle, or a shiny box to be dusted every other day. None of us actually want to go there (generally speaking), but we trudge on, hoping that our endeavors make it all worth while.

Then you really never organized your destination in the first place. Unless your destination has been prearranged for you. Everyone has in them to make it to where they want to be. I just think you may have to rethink your situation.

i think you might told to go; forced.
Plenty of people are forced at gunpoint,to go.
And bullies and bad leaders also tell people where to
go and where.
This is why we must all have law-and-order ; a
Destination we must all go to.

Matthew, my man, you're chasing yourself around a tree. You are (or should be) the one who sets your own destination.

Unfortunately, all of us will eventually finish up at the same destination.
I'm still waiting for somebody, to show me, how not to go there.

If you know your direction and do not like it, then "why go there?" answers itself.
Your questionseems puzzling; isn't it a given that you change your direction when you dislike your current one?
