The material is just the cheap red heart type, but i was making a sweate for my son and i am almost finished when this happened. I already sprayed it with spray and wash but I don't know weather to finish it or rip it back or what.
Thanks in advance.

Dab straight rubbing alcohol on it with a cotton ball. Use a paper towel to soak up the ink and rubbing alcohol. Finish the project and launder as usual. Should get it all out.

Additional:

The hairspray works because of the alcohol in it! I use straight alcohol so I don't get the extra "sticky" stuff in the hairspray!

I don't know if this will work since you've already added other things to it, but the old solution for ball point pen ink where you don't want it is hair spray. It has some kind of solvent(s) in it which seem to work on ballpoint pen ink.

I guess you'd spray it on, then blot it ... repeat, repeat.

If that doesn't work and you don't want to rip back that far, you could always hide the area by doing more yarn work over it (there's a name for that kind of "knitting" but don't know what it is), or you could put something else decorative over it like a fabric applique, decorative button, etc.

Good luck!

Try rubbing the ink stain with a wet bar of hand soap. Sometimes this will take out the ink. Rinse the stain in cold water. If you can't get the stain out---you might rip back to where the stain is and cut that part out of the sweater and knit it over again. Good luck!
