emachine does not have the drives anymore, is there a software that will pull the drivers and save them?

Well ideally your friend would have a CD with those drivers- but wait a sec, if you're installing XP those Windows ME drivers won't work anyway,

You'd have to download the XP drivers from emachine's website (if any exist). The big ones are video, sound & modem -it doesn't appear this machine even has a network card. There's a chance that XP might recognize all of the integrated Intel components without requiring driver disks, but I wouldn't count on it.

Go to the emachine web site and look in their download and/or drivers section. They will have all the drivers for the model. Download the installs for them, and burn them to a CD. Then you will have them to reinstall after you are done formatting. There is no easy way to save all the drivers off of a PC. ou have to go get the install files instead.
