Personally I think a Bowl win.....but in two years a NC...and here is why...this is the actual 1st year of charlie weis athletes...brady...shark...walker....Mcknight, they were leftovers from Crap Willingham....in two years when the guys that weis has recruited like Claussen, Munir Prince...Gary Gray when they are all Juniors and Seniors ...they will have been in his system for +3 years will know it in and out and will also be battled tested!... Counterpoint anyone?

Good point about Weis's system finally falling into place with his own players. But give it a year or two more before the guy really see's paydirt, I think. Freshmen QB's have it tough, and this kid is coming into ND of all places.
I predict two things for ND this year. A winning season and a win over USC at home.

I think they will get a bowl win, as for record, it's hard to say, they will win the last four hands down, all other games are questionable. I think with the new defensive scheme in place, it will be an improvement from last year. The fact that you called Brady Quinn and Jeff Samardzija crap makes me laugh. You don't know that Clausen will start. It could be Demetrius Jones or Evan Sharpley easily. The offense will be rough at first, but they will pan out, they've got Carlson and Grimes coming back. The running game will be better than with walker, because of the depth and the talent of that depth. Overall though, they will do decent. Not the best Charlie has done, but it won't be as bad as some are thinking.

Did you just call Jeff Samardzija crap? He was the best Notre Dame football player in the past 10 years maybe even longer. If it weren't for him Notre Dame would be more of an embarrassment then they are right now.
Weis hasn't won a big game yet since he got to ND. How can you get praised when you produce the same record as the coach you replaced?
Don't get your hopes up about Claussen. In high school he played in a very weak league and it showed when his team went to the State Championship and he finally faced a good defense. 4 Int? Lucky his team bailed him out to get the win.
This season might be one of the worst in Notre Dame history.

They both get smoked in bowls.... Now that is funny, admit it.
Seriously though, I don't see them doing too well because they have an inexperienced quarterback coming in, Weis is over-rated, the team is always over-rated and they play the Big Ten in several games. That is a bad combination.

Your question is about this year not in two years this year they will not make it to a bowl game and I beleive it will be the only down year of the Charlie Weis era in Notre Dame. As for in two years I still don't beleive a national championship unless they start getting a tougher schedule.

I truly don't think that ND will be getting any bowl games won anytime soon.. Going to have a rookie QB as far as i know, and there is no telling how he will do, But ND hasn't won a bowl game in like, 10 years right? I don't see them breaking that anytime soon.

I think they can win a bowl game...not saying national championship yet, because they will have virtually all new players on offense...QB, RB, WR...The leading starter returning on offense is TE John Carlson...but I think they will be 10-1, with a hard fought close loss to USC...and win their bowl game...
