My daughter and her husband have filed for divorce but want to reconcile and his mommy won't let them go on. She even controls the lawyer and fees etc. They have two children and one on the way. Help.

Seems like you are doing some butting of your own. you and his mom need to have it out and lock horns, then make peace, and leave the kids to work it out for themselves with no more advice from either of you.

If they decide to cancel the divorce they do.

Second option, I just thought of this. They come to live with you, then she has no say.

PS another thing I just realized. They can always remarry. Let them divorce, his mom pays for it. Then they spend 40.00 and remarry. YES?

Bingo. She won't be so fast to bark up the "I'll pay for the divorce" tree again.

Good luck.

Junior needs to have the backbone to keep Mommy out of it. It is not your responsibility to encourage him to be a man. It's up to him. If the relationship between him and his wife are primary in his mind he will keep everyone out of his family stresses.

That is why I never discuss my marriage with my mother.

Dee both these young people need to speak with his mom and let her know what their plans are. If she continues to be a pain in the butt then it may become necessary to be rude and let her know straight up to mind her own business.

if you know a way to talk to her, invite her out with the kids, sit her down and have everyone explain to her comely that they do infact want to work it out. Maybe suggest to the kids that they should take marriage counseling. she'd probably be more willing to back off if she saw that the kids were serious about working out their issues

They have to break away from the control she has on them. It will be difficult but to save the marriage they must do it

this is not your problem... so YOU don't need an ounce of help.

if this guy allows others (his mother in this case) to control his life, it's his choice.

and if your daughter wants to live with a wimp, it's HER choice.

take care of your own stuff.. they will survive, no matter what happens....

Well, if the husband can't be man enough to tell his mother to butt out than maybe she doesn't need to be with him. If he doesn't stop it, it'll never end.

that will never happen unless husband breaks the apron strings, grows some nards and tells her to but out.

she just needs to tell her to leave them alone and her husband needs to stop being a momma's boy.
