Are there any teams that are good enough, without having to pick-up a pitcher and/or a position player, to go through the playoffs and win the world series with the players they have now.? If so, tell the team(s) and why you think they don't have to make a move to win it all.

The Boston Red Sox could win it all with the team they have now, because they are winning games without their best hitters hitting. They have an amazing pitching staff, and Schilling gets about 4.5 times better in the playoffs. When Manny, Ortiz, Drew, and Varitek start hitting, because let's face it, they will, the Red Sox could be unstoppable. Having Dice-K as your 3rd playoff starter means you have a pretty good pitching staff. They will have Beckett, Schilling, Dice-K as their first three pitchers, so I think that if they can score three runs a game, then they have a very good shot at winning all three games. Throw in a good pitching performance by Tavarez, Wakefield, Lester, or Gabbard, and you have yourself a series, then another, then a WORLD SERIES!

oops, I didn't even mention that they only have to pitch to the 7th, then Delcarmen goes in and blows guys away with that 97-98mph fastball, then OkeDokey goes in and sets up Papelbon for that high heat and the fist pump for the save!

Obviously the Tigers can.
Obviously the Angels can.
Obviously the Red Sox can.
Maybe the Mets?

I'm gonna throw one more team out there that nobody's mentioned yet - Philadelphia. I don't think anyone questions their offense (it's scored the most runs in the national league). Chase Utley is one of the best all-around hitters in baseball, Ryan Howard is the beastliest, and Pat Burrell is starting to get hot. Shane Victorino gets on base all the time and is 4th in MLB with 30 steals; he's only been caught 3 times. Oh, and J-Ro's pretty good too... Just saying.

The main stated problem with the Phillies team has been pitching. They sport the worst ERA in the national league. However, Tom Gordon is back and pitching well. If he proves good enough to resume closing, Brett Myers can return to the starting rotation. The front office was looking to trade for another SP for the stretch run, but J.D. Durbin is beginning to look more than serviceable.

To sum up, if Durbin can be a 4th-starter quality arm (certainly plausible) and Gordon can close, Myers and Cole Hamels can be a potent top for the rotation. In that case, the current pitching staff won't be great, but good enough to allow the powerhouse offense to lead the team to a world championship.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the Phillies are an excellent defensive team, with the lone (albeit glaring) exception of Pat Burrell.

Detroit Tigers because they are the best hitting team in baseball statistically and they have Kenny Rogers and Verlander making hitters look like they should still be in little league. Not to mention Zumaya is comin back soon, he pitches 100mph like it's nothin....Hate to admit it cuz I'm an obnoxious Yankees fan but Detroit is the best team in baseball right now.

i think of they might desire to. I particularly have questioned if Jason Marquis have been given a ring. He became with St. Louis while they gained the international sequence in '06, yet wasn't on the roster. i presumed that became unhappy that he wasn't on the roster. i discover it bizarre that all and sundry gamers don't get their rings on an identical time...or a minimum of not people who've left or have been traded.

Detroit and the Mets are both strong teams in their leagues. They are destined to meet in the World Series...
