if i buy an external hard drive will i be able to burn dvds on nero because when i try?

What if means is that you dont have enough space in the drive where temporary files by nero are stored you need to locate where these files are stored and clear them or change it to somewhere where you have space. But yes ofcourse you can burn files from an external hdd there shouldn be a problem

If I understand your question correctly, yes it will work just fine....or you can free up more space on your current hard drive and save money on buying a new one. Reason being that weather you are burning a movie, music, or data Nero(and most all other burning programs) need hard drive space in order to store the data you are burning, after the disk is burned the space used on your hard drive is deleted.....usually.

You need to free up space on your current hard drive. you can do that by purchasing an external drive and moving a bunch of your files (pictures, music, videos, etc) to the external drive. Then Nero will have room to create a DVD. Remember that to create a DVD, you have to have enough free space on your hard drive to hold the entire DVD first. It creates it there, and then copies it to the disk. So for a 4.7 gig DVD, you need at least 4.7 Gig of free space....
