Witches aren't ALL wiccan. I wish that people would stop with that interpretation. That is one definition but not the only one. A witch can also be someone that practices witchcraft (spells, divination, healing, etc) or a pagan that follows an earth based religion completely seperate from Wicca. Also some healers and medicine women consider themsleves witches.

You can be a witch without any religious affiliations whatsoever. Some religions incorporate withccraft in with there rituals.

The answerer above me summed it up nicely.

Myself, I am an Agnostic Witch. I practice the art of witchcraft with no religious aspects whatsoever. I call myself agnostic due to the fact that I do not necessarily believe in Deity, but I do believe in spirits and energies that cannot be explained.

Wiccans do not hold the license to the word witch. The fact that the general public is only made aware of the Wiccan religion is responsible for this idea. But I agree, it does get tiresome after a while seeing people assume that every single witch is Wiccan.

Witchcraft is a Way of life and Spiritual system, similar to a Religion with out dogma. Nothing more Nothing less.

Those who practice it are not looking for publicity are hyping up anything. They want to be understood well enough not to be persecuted and harassed.

Witchcraft, is a Earth based Spirituality that honours Nature and the Divine found in Nature.

We are not looking for 15 minutes of fame. We just want to be able to live and worship safely and out in the open. Without being attacked by zealots who want to believe lies about Pagan religions, particularly Witchcraft. NO we do not worship the devil (don't believe in him) and NO witchcraft is not evil.

Wicca is a sect of Witchcraft, but there are many traditions of Witchcraft that are not Wiccan.

We are peaceful Earth loving people. That follow the Divinity in nature and Gods and Goddesses that speak to us.

And we try and be kind to all. There is nothing to fear from us.
Peace to all

A modern witch is a person, male of female, who works are particular form of magic which he or she identifies as "witchcraft." In general, modern witchcraft stresses the importance of emotion and inner strength over rigid ritual and often incorporates components from the natural world. Witchcraft may or may not involve certain ceremonial practices such as circle casting and quarter calling. The designation of modern witch does not imply a certain religious belief nor a moral predisposition.

A Witch is someone who practices witchcraft to help better the world and mankind. A witch is NOT someone who is ugly, worships the devil, or hurts people

Witch is a name given to someone who works with magical powers and natural substances and uses them to help and heal. Magic can be used for both good and evil, but is generally used solely for the good.

Anyone who studies and practices the arts of witchcraft. This would include knowledge of herbals (medicinal, aromas, lore, etc), some forms of divination, working with nature in whatever forms. Some include religious applications but I don't consider that a must, just a preference.
