Actually, yes it is based on a true story. There are only minor variations. First of all, they weren't corpses, they were policeman (or "cops") and so the house was known as a police station. And no one was actually killed, they were just booked and released. The cops ate doughnuts and did paperwork. Some of the people detained spent a night in jail. Rob Zombie thought of this movie when he was in detox, and naturally he thought that corpses would be more exciting than cops. It's absolutely true!

LIke the texas chainsaw massacre...Do you know he only killed one person and yet they call it a massacre yada yada yada you've seen the movie...
