Skipper Rahul Dravid has to promote himself to opening at the expense of Wasim Jaffer to accomdate Yuvraj Singh.
Since Rahul Dravid has opened before,it should not been that difficult to him.Among Jaffer and Karthik, Karthik looked more assuring as a opener and is a better fielder as well.

If Yuvi was to come in, it would have to be for either Laxman, or Wasim Jaffer. Khartik showed great potential and is able to bat in varying tempos. Sachin will never be dropped!!lol...Ganguly adds the extra element, as does Sachin, of being able to bowl. Laxman needs to perform in the 2nd test or he will be out. The other choice is Wasim Jaffer at the top of the innings. Both he and Khartik got 50's in the match, however Jaffer's innings, especially after tea on day 3, took all the momentum away from India and allowed the English bowlers to get on top. He needs to be more positive at times, and Yuvi and Khartik may make an interesting partnership.

Yuvaraj Singh can be included in the playing 11 only in place of Sachin, Ganguly,Laxman. Since Yuvaraj Singh cannot be taken as opener, among Gautam Gambhir, Wasim Jaffar and Karthik, 2 batsmen have to be taken as opening batsmen. If Karthik is taken as opening batsman, he can be used as wicket keeper as well and Yuvaraj Singh can be accommodated in place of Dhoni.
Though Yuvaraj Singh is a very good batsmen, he lacks experience in test cricket and as such it will not be a wise move to include him in place of Sachin, Ganguly or Laxman. Considering the performance of Dhoni in the last test, it will be quite unfair to drop him to accommodate Yuvaraj Singh.
In view of the above I strongly feel there should be no place for Yuvaraj Singh in the playing 11 atleast for the next Test.

Yuvraj is one of india's most dynamic hitters as well as a very decent fielder, i'd say he should come on for either laxman or jaffer since both of them did not perform too well, especially laxman who has a history of being very error prone on the field

Ganguly should retire or laxman should retire from international cricket then there is little chance for yuvaraj singh to be selected. First of all you should understand onething in common, bcci is clearly in one issue. That is don't select inform, talent , experience, good scoring batsman in the playing 11. so according to me first yuvaraj has to play bad cricket. that is scoring 0 to 10 then he will be select in the playing 11. If he plays well then there is no chance for him to play in national team.
