I've heard that, but doctors have different opinions. Since there are no good clinical studies, most caution against it "just in case."
The worry is that chemicals in the hair dye penetrates the scalp and can enter the bloodstream. Also, some women find that pregnancy hormones affect the way the dye works on their hair. You might not get the color you expect! lol
So, really it's up to the mother to decide. And if you've already gotten your hair colored no need to freak out - chances are your baby was not harmed in any way.

They worry that there are no studies done on the chemicals in the hair dye and the effect is has on the fetus. The chemicals seep through your scalp into your blood stream. If you would rather be safe then sorry I suggest highlights. These do not touch the scalp and blends together any color your hair may be and hides the gray if you have any.

Well it's true and not true. You should talk to your Dr. first, because they each have their own opinion. But most dr's ask that you wait until you are in the 2nd Trimester so there is no risk during the crucial development of the babies organs and such. I died mine at 16 weeks. All my Dr. said, was I LOVE IT!

My doctor and my stylist both said to wait until after the first trimester. I'm now 37 weeks, but I've noticed that my hair isn't taking the color as well. It fades, which usually doesn't happen.

Yes, I have heard it. But, it's safe to dye your hair as long as you are in a well ventilated area and it's being done by a professional.

It is perfectly safe to dye your hair while pregnant. They only say to be careful as your hormones may change the colour you would like.

I've heard so many stories it makes my head spin! Half say it's fine, half say it could be deadly!

I have heard that.
From what I have read about it, it hasn't really been studied.
They just suggest that you not do it to be on the safe side.

Ask your doctor.
I had my hair dyed; my friend told me everybody does it(!!). Nothing happend and i was 8 month pregnant. But ask your doctor to be sure.

well my mom died her hair and the my sister came out just fine it isn't safe if u do it by urself do to the hair salon and they will know wat to do and use die that don't hacve much feumes
