Black, in a steel mug, heated over fire on a misty morning just outside my tent, next to my motorcycle, while I'm getting ready to go fish just as soon as the sun comes up.

I only drink coffee in the winter time, and when I do, it has to have plenty of cream and sugar. My grandmother used to accuse me of adding a little coffee to my cream. She preferred her coffee black and strong; boiled on top of the stove. That stuff could almost walk. She also ate her cereal with coffee over it instead of milk.

These days when I'm writing, I'll take it black.
If I'm going to a meeting it's espresso with two sugars.
If I'm in a cafe and I have nothing to do but hang-out then I'll have mine with cream and sugar.
