i have a 1987 chevy truck 5.7 tbi, high idle and hesitates and tbi sputters?

in the begging the truck was hard to start,rough idle,hesitated under 35mph,,sputter thru tbi,,,new tbi gasket and cleaned up tbi,,now high idle but truck sputter and hesitates still .......

A vehicle of that vintage may be due for new vacuum lines. Inspect all lines for cracks. Make sure they fit →snug← on the fitting. If vacuum lines appear OK then there may be a fuel timing problem, meaning the butterflies on the TBI are opening a split second before the fuel. Check the TBS for proper operation.

i always tune it first...if it has cap/rotor look there...mine..s10 chev eat up caps.
