Records are in black and white - there are no gray areas. I will accept the record because it is the record, just like I accept the fact that my eyes are green, my car is blue, and that Chicago is in Illinois. Regardless of whether or not Bonds used steroids, HGH, amphetamines, crack or even St. Joseph's Children's aspirin, he will have hit more home runs in his career then any other player. Do I like the fact that a man who is probably the biggest jerk to play in the big leagues since Ty Cobb is going to have that record? Not one bit. But he will have that record, there will be no asterisk beside it, and baseball fans, even those like me who know damn well Bonds has had a lot of chemical help, will just have to learn to live with it.
For the folks who keep insisting on talking about the asterisk beside Roger Maris' 61 home run season in 1961, it never existed. The record books simply showed 2 records, Maris' 61 homers in a 162 game season, and Ruth's record of 60 home runs for a 154 game season. The asterisk was never in the books.

There is a preponderance of evidence that Bond took steroids, he has admitted to using the cream and the clear although he says he didn't know what it was, yeah, right!. A book was written calling him out and he has made no comment defending himself. If someone writes lies about you, you sue the crap out of them. There is no way to test for HGH, so who's to say he isn't using it. It is unfortunate that he will eventually break Aaron's record and there wont be an * next to it. But in the public arena, he will not have the admiration of all fans and colleagues. Eventually the truth about Bond will surface.

So to answers your question HELL NO!!!!!!

A. There's no evidence - hard factual evidence - that Bonds has used steroids. I mean, I think he did too, but unless I can prove it I'm not going to mark him with a star. Roger Maris' single-season record was officially marked in the record books until after he died because he had a 162-game season, and it became apparent in his older age that this really bothered him. And it wasn't fair.

Bonds is clean now; he has to be, with MLB's testing system finding several players a year with banned substances in their blood. And he's still one of the scariest hitters in baseball. That says a lot. He was also a great hitter before the alleged steroid use. Whether he was totally clean for every HR, I can't say, but either way Bonds was a great player and deserves to be fairly acknowledged.

It's also significant that, even if he was juicing, a lot of other people were too and Bonds was still the best.

A combo of C/d

my reason for C... Well he will be champ, nothing can change that as much as we may want it to. But it will never be "clean"

And the reason for D. In 5 years A-rod will be breaking the record and people wont care about Bonds nearly as much unless A-rod starts doping.

When he breaks the record he will be the new homerun king period. It is not a question of not caring, asterisks, or not accepting, he will be the player with the record.

It's pretty simple. I'll accept it simply because it is the record. When it gets broken, as most records do, then I'll accept the new total as the record.

I wont accept it because he would not let them check him for steroids and if he is so sure that he isnt using them then why should it matter. Bonds will be forever a steriod user.

E. Hank Aaron will get in the chevy glove at at&t park and shoot the ball with a sniper rifle and then shoot barry bonds
to injure him for the carrer or therest of the season...

then Hank Aaron will play baseball again and piss off Barry bonds

and then they will say bonds used steroids and ban him from mlb..

I honestly do not understand from where some (many, even) people vest home runs with a moral component.
