i need to get rid of it before i move - i dont want it anymore but i feel it would be bad karma to let anyone else have it or to leave it where i am now.

The best way to get rid of an Ouija board is burn it along with the pointer. That way you don't leave open any spiritual doors
that should have been closed. Or unwittingly pass an unwanted spirit on to the next person.

My best friend in High School had one and we used it one night and alto of nasty scary things happened that night so, when it was daylight out we took it to the large drum they had in their backyard and we put salt around the can and she and both had Holy Water. We put lighter fluid on it and let it burn to nothing and while it was burning it sounded like it was screaming. That freaked me out as I could not see how something made of board could scream but it did.
Anyways, when it was burned up real good and the flames had disappeared, we put alto of salt on the area of the board and then drowned it in Holy Water. Neither one of us or the other 6 people there ever picked up another one again.
Recently my brother's fiance found an old board that used to be our mom's in their home and Sharon and I grabbed it and drove it way out in the country and I saw this old Town hall building and it had a lake right by it and told her to go there and we buried it with alto of salt and Holy water and put the dirt back and then we covered that whole area with salt and Holy Water and left it there and we did not look back. That worked very well for us also.

I had a friend who tried something with an ouija board but something scary happened and she freaked and flung it in the sea as she heard from the shop where she purchased it form that that is how to dispose of it.

A lot of people think burning the board is good but if I was disposing of one I would throw it off a bridge into salt water.

It's interesting that someone tells the story of a burning Ouija board that screamed. My mom tore a deck of Tarot cards into pieces, and several of the cards made a screaming sound when she did.
Salt water is a traditional way to purify something and negate any evil that might surround it. I suggest dousing it with salt water, breaking it into pieces, and burying it. The alternative would be to burn it, but don't be surprised if you hear weird noises while it burns.

Give it to the Salvation Army. I've picked up several at their Thrift stores that I could give away to people.

Realize that it's just a piece of wood and throw it in the trash.

That's a good question. A friend of mine burned his and said that it screamed.
My suggestion for if you're going to burn it would be to burn it with a circle of sea salt around it.

break it into seven peices, sprinkle it with holy water, and bury it in the ground...DON"T BURN OUIJA BOARDS!!!

Don't burn it! place holy water on it and break it into peices and throw it in the lake or river.
