I know I do. Along with Liberals, Libertarians, Real Conservatives and anyone with a lick of common sense.

So, just as an exercise in Fairness and a means of restoring perspective--let's all try to say something nice about him. I'll start.

Bush has made me realize that Jimmy Carter wasn't our least effective President and Dan Quayle wasn't the dumbest Republican ever.

Why would you get thumbs down, Wish 2? You're only doing what I asked you to. Unlike the people who responded with Carter Bashing without saying anything nice about Bush.

Oh come on, I Robot. There must be SOMETHING nice you can say. I know it's hard, but try.

You Canucks need to get out more, Liz. I've never seen him turn in a convincing performance.

It's too easy to tell when he's lying--his lips are moving.

I have to say he is a wonderful liar. He does that so well and he has such loyalty to the people...his base of haves and have mores. He is creative in that he wants to rewrite the Constitution to suit his purposes, althought to be fair I have to say that I do not approve of him calling it "that God-dmmmmed piece of paper".
His concern for our citizens is unsurpassed, look at the chances he gave the Katrina victims when they needed help. He let them go first and find their own way for 6 days while he air-strummed his guitar at a party. Such a gentleman letting ladies and children go first. Not to mention the elderly. You have to also thank Condi Rice...she gave such a beautiful example of keeping her cool during the crisis and got lovely shoes to wear to important White House functions. You know they have to provide a stunning example to these people they are so out of touch with. Let them eat cake....even if it is stale and moldy from Halliburton. And why have no bid contracts....yep you guessed it, to show we trust these epitomes of altruism that are there with only an 800% rise in profit line. Good jobs Brownies.
You also have to admire Bush for standing his ground regardless of what the American people want. He is not swayed by their pleas or given into tears for our slain soldiers. Uno something else too....he is so given to sending people to battle even though he was cheated out of the glory of it during the Viet Nam years....damn Nation al guard, Alabama and Texas were hell during those years but he even had the guts to leave it and go campaign. Wow..... Such fortitude....whatta guy...wow. He is indeed incredible.
Is that praise enough?

I lived through the Carter years. I would honestly have to say that President Bush is nowhere near as awful as Jimmy. It's hard to imagine how Carter could have been so bad when he actually didn't do much.

I disagree with you. Carter was horribly ineffective and basically accomplished nothing. Bush is holding true to his convictions and is a moral, decent, strong man. The Bush bashing is getting old.

I'm not sure how old you are but I remember the Carter years. They were horrible economically. Double digit inflation, 20+% interest rates and soaring unemployment. Gas lines and only being able to fill up on certain days based on your license plate #. talk about government intervention.

I will have to disagree. I lived through the carter years and this is not even on the same planet as that train wreck.

Dan Quayle wasn't the dumbest Republican ever? Come on man. The dude spelled potato as potatoe.

I think we do a good amount of Bush bashing and it is well deserved, but I would like to see more cohesive and intellectually heavier debates. Most people here resign themselves to "TeH BuSh Is ReTarDeD" which is completely ridiculous (and frankly a waste of space on Yahoo's servers).

lol!
Bush has made me realize how good things were before him when we were not invading other sovereign nations in an attempt to rule the world and when we lived in a democracy where we had three distinct branches of government and were not ruled by a dictator who wants complete unopposed power. In fact its much like the Star Wars saga's where we are now under the rule of a sith lord empire. I cannot wait till january 2009 when hopefully good will triumph over evil and peace will once again be returned to the galaxy.

I admit Bush has not done the best job, but its because of democrats sitting on their asses while they are in office that we are in this situation to begin with. If the democrats would not have ignored all of the terrorist threats and did something about it bush would not have so much on his plate.
