im just curious, it always got me thinking. what do girls look for in a guy when choosing a candidate for marriage. what are the traits

- it's the attraction.. the love, excitement, the feelings that would tell me "yeah, i want to marry this guy" .. then comes next other factors like his stability in life, (career, educational background),.. another one is his attitude, you don't want to marry a guy who talks like a woman, who nags like my mom (lol!).. or a super self-centered and arrogant. Family background is worth to consider too.. because once you marry the guy, his whole family is on the package too....

A girl SHOULD look to see if this man is really marrage material. Does he go out everynight, is he a player? Does he gamble Does he drink in excess? Is he a mood changer? Does he hold down a good job, and is he there for you in times of trouble or does he avoid sticky situations.and last but not least is he someone you really want to share the next 50 to 70 years with? I should have looked at these things 23 years ago and maybe I wouldn't be in the mess I am now....

1. a career - could be an accountant or could be dog poop scooper. Money isnt the matter but the fact they get up everyday and do someting with themselves means a lot.
2. they must have dreams and ambitions
3. want a family
4. Make me laugh,
5 considerate
6 loyal
7 affectionate
8 get on well with my friends and family
Not neccesarily in that order but those traits matter most to me. x

You're never going to get a good answer by actually asking the question this way and here.
You have to go around and talk to women and let them tell you their war stories, and then you find out what the good ones are after by what they avoid. And who cares what the skanks and losers want? They live in fantasy worlds or just lack integrity or self-control.
You want to know what mature, confident, intelligent women are after?
They want a gentleman who is confident, has high self-esteem (confidence), good self-control (druggies, gamblers, etc need not apply), and a positive attitude. And note this: somebody with high self-esteem isn't going to be a controlling, insecure macho man or a wussy who is just happy to be there. He is somebody they can respect, and he accords them with the respect they have earned, and he is flexible (so if you are a slave to ritual, sorry), yet he doesn't allow himself to be pushed around and bullied.

I'm a guy and I'm answering from my point of view. I think that girls want someone who will be dependable. Someone who doesn't spend his time in jail, who drinks a lot, is into drugs, or has hardware stuck all over his body. Excessive or outlandish tats are a turnoff. Girls don't want a clown to father their children. They want a guy who has a steady job with prospects of earning big dollars, not a high school dropout who flips hamburgers and skateboards all during his free time. If you find a girl who is into all of the above...RUN!

A good decent honest man, who has intergrity, values people, is respectful, humble and great sense of humour! Also more of a personal taste- to have experienced other cultures or have an open mind in terms of peoples opinions!

First of all you must love them no matter what, flaws and all. There must be stability in the relationship and complete trust. I believe a person knows in their heart whether the person they are with is marriage material.

FUN with a good sense of humor, how she is treated by you, good looking, takes care of himself, he can't be a slob, mature, good to his parents, gentleman, what kind of career he has (weather he has to travel or not and if its secure), his choice on having children, and knows what he's doing in bed.
