It seems like everytime a best of list of anything comes out regarding music, the Beatles are always the best band ever, one of their albums (usually Sgt. Pepper or Revolver) is the best album ever, and almost all of the best music was made in the 60s and 70s. It seems to me that what's actually going in is that people don't want to admit that a new guy might be better than these classic artists. Sgt. Pepper is good, but there are lots of albums I'd rather listen to. Also, the Beatles may have been a good pop/rock band, but there's no way you could objectively say they're better than 2Pac for example, as 2Pac was rap and so isn't even in the same category. And as far as all the good music being made in the 60s and 70s, that's perfect proof of this time war syndrome going on; I refuse to believe that all the good music was made in two decades of the 20th century and that nothing before then and nothing since then can be as good.

It was an age of revolution, innovation, imagination and change. Everything since then has been recycled ideas or crap!
