we know that sodium reacts with with cold waterb to produce sodium hydroxide.does the same reaction follow with even steam?

The reaction would be extremely violent.
Technically, sodium oxide and hydrogen would be formed, and not sodium hydroxide.

The reaction would be extremely violent but
the reaction is similar to Water
the reaction gives us vapor NaOH and H2 gas
you can see some blue flames you can imagine the violent of this above reaction.
If you do this experiment in lab you must be advised to were some safety equipments.
We did this in our lab
You can see a white glowish gas which is Naoh gas
