Ya know, I woke up this morning with the exact same thought. It never ends, so I may as well find a way to be happy about it. If there are always more dishes to wash, I should be thankful that we are eating well. If we always have laundry, I should be thankful for having clothes on my back. I really should be thankful, but I would be more thankful if I could afford to hire a MAID! LOL.

Yes, you are absolutely right ! I'm a SAHM of 2 boys ages 1 and 3 and it seems no matter what I do something else takes it's place.. My boys do help even though they are little they help me pick up their toys at night and my 3 yr. old likes to help me sort laundry in the basement and put the clothes from the washer to the dryer ! He'll also hold the dustpan for me while I sweep, it was a lifesaver while I was pregnant ! So, "they" can be taught at an early age to help.. My husband on the other hand has been a tougher cookie.. While he DOES help it seems I have to make "the face" or do "the sigh". Then he'll help.. I'm starting a part time job in the evening so I'm planning on making a list of things that I would usually do at night.. So, that I don't come home to a messy house that would just send me through the roof ! My husband was home for a bit over a week and I gotta say by far he was the worst mess maker... His favorite "thing" to do was to mess a room right after I would clean it.. I clean the kitchen and he would run in their and make something to eat and leave everything out and his dishes in the sink.. Then when I would clean it up he's say "I WAS gonna do that" or the sock/underwear trick where his socks and underwear would just make the outside of the hamper !! I finally yelled at him after a little over a week. !! He was gone for a week and I had little to no trouble keeping house with just me and the kids. We have a routine and the kids know to put their toys away.... So, I hear ya.. Thanks for letting me vent !!!

Hah, it'll end when entropy ends -- and then we'll ALL have nothing to do! As long as the wind blows, as long as the cat sheds, as long as we eat and drink and sweat and excrete, There Will Be Housework!
Sounds like you need a dose of Flylady, the housekeeping guru. She'll help you feel more empowered. Housework is a neverending task, but it is an opportunity to show your loved ones how much you care for them. It is also an opportunity to show yourself how much you care for you! You deserve a clean, tidy space, and you can get it with some work.
Take a look at flylady.net for more info.

Depends on how you do your housework. Myself, when I do my housework , I try to do at least 15 min´s in every room, per day. This way I keep on top of everything. I set the clock to go off in 15 min´s time , see how much I can get done on this short time. Never waste time taking thing´s back to their rightful places till I have finished, and always reward myself when done. Even if I don´t finish everything in the one day, it will still be there later . Still have time have time to relax

Never! And I should know since I have been doing it for over 40 years. Every day there is something that needs to be done. Even if it is just making the bed. It is a true saying that a "Woman's work is never done." Not to offend any men out there, I know you do house work too. But that was the old saying. So, I guess I better get to it. Have a great day!

I agree with the above two flybabies.
There IS an end to housework. It comes when you stop seeing it as work, and start seeing it as blessing you and your family.
